The USS Tulsa is on its way to its permanent home on the West Coast.
In a post on Austal USA's Facebook page, the US Navy's newest Independence-class Littoral Combat Ship left Mobile, Alabama Friday, heading to San Diego, California.
The Navy took control of her back in April, with the official commissioning of the USS Tulsa scheduled for sometime in 2019.
