About a half dozen cattle had to be rounded up after they briefly escaped their trailer on I-44 Monday evening.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a pickup pulling the trailer ran off Interstate 44 near 177th East Avenue and somehow the trailer's door opened up allowing the cattle to escape.
They say the incident happened at about 9 p.m.
Trooper Greg Jennings say the eastbound lanes were shut down briefly while the cattle was corralled and put back in the trailer.
