Western OK Wildfire 99 Percent Contained, Officials Say

The wildfire that’s been burning across Dewey County for nearly two weeks is now almost contained.

Oklahoma Forestry Services says a fire line has been constructed around 99 percent of the fire’s perimeter.

Firefighters are still monitoring hot spots inside the burn area.

The Rhea fire has burned more than 286,000 acres.
