Police arrested a Tulsa man early Wednesday for allegedly stealing a generator with a stolen truck. He is identified as 34-year-old Guadalupe Ballesteros.
Officers say they got a call about a burglary in the 1400 block of South Joplin just before 12:25 a.m. The owner of a nearby business told police he had security video of a white pickup parked outside another business.
Police say a short time later their helicopter located that pickup which appeared to be occupied by two people. They said that truck then pulled into the Mazzio's parking lot at 15th and Sheridan and turned off its lights.
Police located Ballesteros walking in the 1900 block of South Sheridan. Police said during their investigation, they discovered evidence linking Ballesteros with the truck and generator.
They found the truck still at Mazzio's with a dog left inside and the generator in the back. Police said the pickup was stolen out of Wagoner County.
Ballesteros was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints including possession of a stolen vehicle and grand larceny. The other man had not been captured.
Police fed the dog which was then taken to the animal shelter.
