Cushing Police are warning of a scam seeking donations to help families of injured or deceased officers.

Police said about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017, they received a call about a phone scam.

The citizen told police a caller claimed to be an officer with the Cushing Police Department and was collecting donations for deceased and injured officers’ families.

“I want our citizens to know that the Cushing Police Department and/or its members are not soliciting any donations,” said Chief Tully Folden.

Police said anyone who receives a similar call to contact the Cushing Police Department 918-225-1212.
