News On 6 Crime reporter and news anchor Lori Fullbright offers some purse safety tips as you begin the holiday shopping season.
While Tulsa is generally a safe community, she says shoppers need to be extra careful this time of year.
Her tips include making sure you have a record of every credit card you carry stored in a safe and secure place. That way, if your purse is stolen you can access that information quickly to stop anyone from using those cards.
She also says never leave your purse unattended in your shopping card, even for a second. And never leave your purse in your vehicle, even if it is hidden from view.
Now, Lori says if someone comes up to you with a knife or gun, don't resist, give that criminal your purse. Lori says that purse and what is inside is not worth your life.
And lastly, if you are a victim of a robbery, get a good description of the robber. Lori says a good description is very important to helping police catch that person and keeping them from robbing someone else.
