Drone Captures Video Of Catoosa Road Project Blasting

A construction crew working to improve a road near the Port of Catoosa turned to a powerful tool Wednesday afternoon.

Summers Drilling and Blasting used explosives to help remove rocks that were in the way.     

Midwest Drone Productions captured video of the explosion, which loosened a large section of rock, making it much easier to remove. 

The construction project will improve a stretch of 193rd East Avenue just northwest of the Port of Catoosa, near the Stone Canyon housing development.

The crew said this type of explosion is called an "up lift" blast.
