A Tulsa County District Court jury on Thursday found an Owasso man guilty of first-degree manslaughter in the 2014 death of an 8-year-old girl who died after his truck smashed into the car she was riding in.

O'Donnell was under the influence of drugs when his 2008 Ford F-250 was pulling a trailer on Highway 169 near Owasso when his truck ran into the back of the 2011 Honda Accord driven by Brad Chambers. The impact forced Chambers' Honda into the back of a 2000 GMC pickup which then hit a 2008 BMW.

Chambers' 8-year-old daughter, Katelyn, was killed in the crash. Chambers' son Weston, who was five at the time, was also injured in the crash with minor injuries. Chambers was left with severe head trauma.

The jury recommended a 12-year sentence on the manslaughter charge with a $10,000 fine and a 2-year sentence and $5,000 fine on the DUI charge.

O'Donnell will be sentenced October 10, 2016.
