A 20-block stretch of a busy road in Broken Arrow will be under construction starting Monday and is expected to continue through the end of the year. Two miles of Aspen Avenue - from 91st and 71st - will be under extensive construction.
Contractors will be removing old roadway and installing new asphalt. Also, they will re-mark the road and make some pedestrian signal modifications. The goal is for three lanes to remain open at all times and traffic to continue moving both ways.
Crews will begin work near 91st and move north towards 71st. The city is asking drivers to be alert and cautious because there will be workers on the roadway.
This will cost an estimated $1.6 million paid for by capital improvement funds.
