Police arrested a 21-year-old man late Monday in connection with the death of a 2-month-old girl at a West Tulsa apartment complex.

Officers were called to the Ashford Overlook Apartments in the 6200 block of South 33rd West Avenue just after 9:30 p.m. in reference to a baby in cardiac arrest. They said EMSA had been called about a baby who had fallen off a couch, and her heart had stopped.

Police arrived and stated in their report, trash was lying around inside the apartment and there were empty beer cans on the porch. They also said the baby had bruises on the head, arms, legs, hand and feet. Two other children - an 8 month old and a 1 year old - were also found in the apartment.

Officers say Joseph Bunnell, the mother's fiance, was watching the children when the youngest died. The 8 month old is his, and the infant girl and toddler are hers, police say.

They are now in the custody of family members, according to police.

Child Crisis investigators took the infant's 20-year-old mother and Joseph Bunnell in for questioning. After talking with both, police arrested Bunnell and booked him into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of abuse of a child and child neglect.

Jail records show he is being held on a $100,000 bond with a court appearance set for March 22.
