Time to head to the fridge and check on any salad packages you might have in there. The Centers for Disease Control is investigating a listeria outbreak linked to Dole prepackaged salads.
One person died and 12 people were hospitalized after getting sick with listeria. The salad was sold under various brand names including Dole, Fresh Selections, Simple Truth and President's Choice.
The manufacturing code begins with the letter "A." The CDC says the packaged salads were produced at a processing facility in Springfield, Ohio.
The reported cases have all been in the northeast part of the U.S., according to the CDC.
