Nearly 300 veterans who used to be homeless now have a place to call home.
Twenty-three organizations collectively known as A Way Home For Tulsa helped make it happen.
They set a goal last year of finding homes for 290 homeless veterans and announced Thursday they not only met their goal but helped eight other veterans as well.
The group also set a goal of housing 95 chronically homeless Tulsans - it's still January but they've already found homes for 78 people.
"We are working better together as a whole so that homelessness will be rare, brief and non-recurring. That really is the ultimate goal," said Jeff Jaynes wit A Way Home For Tulsa.
The group's not finished yet. Their initiative called Zero 2016 Tulsa continues for at least another 11 months.
