Three people are behind bars Saturday morning after police say they pulled them over in a stolen car, and one of them tried to run off.

Officers say they spotted Jonathan English driving a car with an expired paper tag, which turned out to be stolen. They say Lindsey Morin and Christopher Barwise were also in the car.

When officers saw the car back into a parking spot at the QuikTrip near 31st and Memorial, they got suspicious and watched until the car left. That's when police say they pulled the car over and took English, Morin and Barwise into custody.

English tried to run away - while handcuffed, according to police.

But officers quickly found him hiding behind a vehicle in the parking lot of Jim Glover Chevrolet. Police say they also found drugs in the car.

English was booked on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, escape from arrest, carrying drugs/alcohol into jail and possession of marijuana - all after a former felony conviction. Other complaints included improper tag, driving with a revoked license, resisting arrest and driving under suspension.

Barwise was booked into jail on complaints of possession of a controlled drug and paraphernalia. Morin was booked on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle and public intoxication.
