Tulsa Special Olympian Honored

A Tulsa Special Olympian was recently honored by police as the World Wide Law Enforcement Torch Run Athlete of the Year.

Amy Wollmershauser has competed as a Special Olympian for 26 years.  Amy's list of sports includes track and field, snowshoeing, basketball and bowling.  
Along with participating in Oklahoma's Special Olympics, Amy has competed in the National Special Olympic events as well as Special Olympic events around the world.

Locally, Amy Wollmershauser is known for her year-round support and encouragement of fellow athletes in the Tulsa area.

In 2009, Amy was one of three Olympians featured in a public TV documentary spotlighting Special Olympic athletes and their families.
