When the Owasso Rams take the field this year, their uniforms will have a new look.

Each of Owasso's teams will wear the Folds of Honor logo, a foundation that gives scholarships to children of families killed or wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. "We already are very proud of the name on the front of our jersey, but we want to have the Folds of Honor on there and not only be proud of what they do but to honor them and the men and women of the service and those of them that aren't with us anymore," explained Owasso Athletic Director Zach Duffield.

One of the highlights of this partnership will be the pregame coin toss. An honorary captain from Folds of Honor will lead the team to midfield and present the referee with a custom printed coin.

The motivational speeches are also encouraging. “As far as motivational speakers, they're tremendous. It really gives our kids a lot of perspective on not just getting ready for a football game, but an outlook on life, and how fortunate we are to live in this country,” said Owasso Head Coach Bill Patterson.

Owasso will donate a $5,000 scholarship back to the Folds of Honor Foundation as part of the deal, but what the rams get in return could be worth much more. “I think the primary thing they get out of this is to find out that freedom isn't free,” said Folds of Honor Vice President Tony Biata. “There's been a price paid for the freedom that we all enjoy in this great country. Whether it's been the loss of a loved one or the dismemberment of someone, freedom has paid a heavy price here in our country.”
