This week marks the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's arrival on the gulf coast of the U.S.

Experts say Katrina was the costliest natural disaster in the history of the United States and the deadliest hurricane in almost eight decades.

News On 6 will cover the 10th anniversary of its arrival in southeast Louisiana with a journalist who has a special perspective on the storm.

News On 6 anchor Rich Lenz and his family are Katrina survivors. Rich and his family were living in New Orleans in 2005 when the huge storm came ashore.

Rich has gone back to New Orleans this week. He'll catch up with Oklahomans who dropped everything and rushed to the coast to help, including a Tulsa police officer who he met face-to-face in his flooded home ten years ago.

Watch for his reports on 6 In The Morning and on News On 6 at 9 and 10 p.m.
