Former Oklahoma Trooper Who Destroyed Patrol Boat Pleads Guilty To DUI

A former Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper pleaded guilty to driving drunk when he wrecked his patrol vehicle and destroyed the patrol boat he was towing.

Joshua Davies, 34, was driving his OHP SUV when he crashed on Applegate Cove Road eight miles south of Sallisaw on July 3, 2014.

According to an arrest report, Davies had a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit. Other troopers booked him into jail at the Sallisaw Police Department. 

On Friday, July 31, 2015, Davies pleaded guilty to three misdemeanors; DUI, possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and transporting an open container.

The judge gave him a two-year deferred sentenced and ordered him to pay a $300 fine.

Davies had been with the OHP for eight years and was assigned to the Marine Enforcement Division. He was suspended with pay after his arrest and resigned the following month.

The boat he was pulling, a 22-foot Angler valued at about $65,000, was a total loss.
