Nearly two weeks running from police has ended for a Tulsa teenager wanted in the shooting death of another man on July 5.

Police said William Campbell, 17, was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint outside a west Tulsa convenience store Thursday evening.  Officers tracked Campbell to a west Tulsa apartment Thursday then followed him to the QuikTrip at Union and West 51st Street and took him into custody.

Police learned Campbell was staying at a west Tulsa apartment and set up surveillance prior to his arrest.

Detectives say Campbell is suspected of shooting Craig Wingard on July 5.  They believe Wingard went to Campbell's home on Woodrow Place near Harvard looking for items that were stolen from him.  Wingard died on July 8.

After the shooting, Campbell left with 32-year-old Sarah Helton.

Wednesday, police said they nearly caught up with the two during a police chase.  Officers believed Campbell and Helton were in stolen Pontiac Torrent they were chasing but somehow were able to get away.   The SUV was later recovered.
