Brookside Fire Ruled Arson, Death A Suicide

Tulsa Fire Department said a man who was found dead in a Brookside apartment Sunday morning committed suicide.

Crews arrived at a small complex of townhouses near 37th and Madison to find the fire on the second story of one unit. After putting out the fire, they found the body of a man inside.

Neighbors had reported hearing a loud bangs before smelling smoke about 30 minutes later. Fire Captain Stan May said the man set the fire then killed himself.
