Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher and Broken Arrow native Archie Bradley took a line drive to the side of the face and left Tuesday night's game against the Colorado Rockies in the second inning.

The ball, hit by Rockies slugger Carlos Gonzalez, appeared to strike Bradley on the right cheek. He was motionless on the pitcher's mound for a few minutes before rolling over and sitting up under his own power.

Bradley was able to walk off the field by himself, but had significant swelling to the right side of his face.

He had made it through an inning and a third without allowing a run, and struck out former Tulsa Driller Nolan Arenado on the batter before the injury.

Late Tuesday, Archie Bradley was released from the hospital.  While at the hospital, Bradley tweeted "It could have been much worse."

Major League Baseball's tracking software estimated the ball was traveling 115 mph when it came off the bat.
