Man Robbed And Shot In Head Outside Tulsa Hotel

A man was shot in the head in an armed robbery Saturday night outside a Tulsa hotel. Fortunately the bullet did not penetrate the man's skull, according to police.

EMSA reports he is in fair condition.

The victim was staying at the Tulsa Inn and Suites in the 8200 block of East Skelly Drive, according to Tulsa Police. The victim was walking back to his room from a nearby McDonald's when he was shot and robbed of his cellphone and wallet.

Police say the 39-year-old shooting victim was conscious and in his room when they got to the hotel. They don't have a description of the shooter other than that a witness saw a heavyset figure standing over the man after the shooting.

The witness told police the shooter drove off in a small, dark car. Detectives found a .9mm shell casing and a pool of blood in the parking lot next to the hotel.

Officers are investigating the shooting.
