Tulsa Police tracked down two suspects in an attempted home break-in early Saturday morning. They were still trying to put together the pieces of the crime, Captain Laurel Ledbetter told News On 6.

A homeowner in the 500 block of East Reading called at about 2:30 a.m. to say someone was trying to break into his house. When officers arrived on scene, there was a car parked outside the home with several young men inside.

The responding officer tried to talk to those men, and the car took off. One passenger jumped from the car during the pursuit, and he got away.

Police stopped the car at a dead end just west of 1300 North Denver. The other three men got out and ran, and police caught two of them. They found a red sweatshirt that the third runner had discarded, but he got away.

The other two young men were taken into custody. The driver was booked on complaints of eluding police and attempted home invasion, and the passenger on attempted home invasion, a Tulsa police supervisor said later in the day.

An officer back at the home said the suspects first tried to break down the front door but couldn't get in. They went around and broke out a window on the side of the house.

It's believed that officers arriving at the house scared the suspects, who are believed to be juveniles.
