Tulsa police have released the identities of the two women found murdered in an East Tulsa apartment complex parking lot on Wednesday morning.
According to TPD Sgt. Dave Walker, the victims were Amanda Douglas, 26, and Jennifer Sanders, 37. Walker said the investigation has yet to reveal which woman was the intended target or if they both were targeted.
Douglas and Sanders were found shot outside the Bristol Park Apartments near 44th and Garnett about 9:30 a.m. When police arrived, they discovered the back window of a car shattered and one of the women in the driver's side of a vehicle. The other was on the ground.
No arrests have been made.
"Most investigations will turn up usual motives of money, drugs, relationship issues and vendettas," Walker said in a statement. "Each of these victims have things that were going on in their lives that touch on these four categories. Due to the nature of the investigation we are not focusing on either victim or any one issue. We cannot reveal any more in regards to the motive." 11/26/2014 Related Story: Two Women Dead In Tulsa Shooting
Surveillance footage from the complex showed a car leaving the parking lot after the shooting, police said. Apartment staff said the vehicle was not a regular visitor's car. One of the six witnesses said he saw a man running from the scene.
Walker said on Thursday morning that investigators have determined the car was one that was reported stolen on Tuesday and describe it as a gold, four-door 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix with Oklahoma license plate 231 GDS.
Police ask for anyone who knows the whereabouts of the vehicle to call 911 or the Homicide Tip Line at 918-798-8477.
"Do not approach this vehicle if seen parked and do not follow the vehicle if seen on the roadway," Walker said. "Please call 911 immediately."
