Tulsa Schools Break Ground For Edison Preparatory School Expansion

Edison Preparatory High School broke ground on a new 18,000 square foot expansion Tuesday morning that will include lecture halls, a computer lab and safe rooms.

Edison Preparatory High School broke ground on a new 18,000 square foot expansion Tuesday morning.

The $4.4 million Collegiate Center is being paid for with school bonds. The facility includes two lecture and testing halls that double as tornado safe rooms.

It also adds classrooms, counseling offices, a computer research lab to the school campus at 2906 East 41st Street.

"We keep improving our schools. We keep making them better than they were 20 years ago when we first started this capital improvement plan," said Bob LaBass, Tulsa Public Schools. 

Keep Up With The Project

"So everything we do improves the schools for them."

This hte last project of a bond passed by voters in 2010. Construction is scheduled to be completed late next summer.
