The Tulsa Zoo celebrated a milestone birthday for its oldest elephant Friday morning. Gunda, who is 63-years old, arrived at the zoo in 1954 to start the zoo's elephant program.

Zoo elephant keeper Jessica Scallan says the average life span of an elephant is 45 years and this week's birthday makes Gunda one of the longest living Asian elephants in North America.

As part of her birthday celebration, the Tulsa Zoo presented Gunda with an elephant-sized birthday cake filled with jelly and fruit.
