Search Underway For Prison Escapee In LeFlore County

Law enforcement are searching for a state prison inmate who escaped from the Jim E. Hamilton Correctional Facility in LeFlore County Friday morning.

Law enforcement are searching for a state prison inmate who escaped from the Jim E. Hamilton Correctional Facility in LeFlore County Friday morning.

Warden Mike Wade told News On 6, Mark Bennett was reported missing from the prison in Hodgen at 9:05 a.m.

According to Oklahoma Department of Corrections records, Bennett began serving a 10 year sentence in August for possession of cocaine, attempting to elude and destruction of property.

Bennett is described as 6'2", weighing 185 pounds and having blond hair and blue eyes. Officials say Bennett has several tattoos, including the word "THIS" on his right arm and a skull, dragon and the word "HALE" on his left arm.
