A stolen EMSA ambulance has been recovered in Tulsa.
When it was taken, the ambulance was located at RiverSpirit Casino, where it was on medical standby during an event. No medics were on board, and it was not being used for patient care at the time, EMSA spokesperson Kelli Bruer said.
After about 20 minutes, the ambulance was ditched by the thief.
"The vehicle was not damaged and all equipment is accounted for," Bruer said in a statement. "We are glad that no one was injured in the incident. We are looking into how they gained access to the vehicle."
Narcotics on board are kept in a locked safe, Bruer said.
