Former Wagoner Public School Official Pleads Guilty To Theft

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Muskogee says a former Wagoner Public Schools Food Service Director has pleaded guilty to stealing federal funds.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Muskogee says a former Wagoner Public Schools Food Service Director has pleaded guilty to stealing federal funds.

Mary Gaylor, 64, of Wagoner was charged with theft and of obstructing an audit.

In 2010, state of Oklahoma officials accused Gaylor of stealing almost $270,000 between 2005 and 2009 from the school's child nutrition program.

The state auditor's office found Gaylor pocketed an average of $67,000 a year while she worked for Wagoner schools.

A judge accepted her guilty plea during an appearance in federal court on Thursday.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.

Gaylor worked for Wagoner Public Schools for 15 years.
