Driver Hits Gas Instead Of Brakes, Damages Claremore Restaurant

A close call for an employee of the Golden Chef restaurant at Highway 20 and Camden intersection in Claremore Monday morning.

Claremore Police said an elderly driver hit the gas instead of the brakes causing the car to strike the side of the restaurant at about 11:30 a.m.

The car damaged the kitchen area of the restaurant.

The restaurant owner's wife had been in that part of the kitchen a moment before the crash.

Neither the driver nor the owner's wife was injured.
