SAPULPA, Oklahoma -- Three weeks after winning an appeal to play in the postseason, the Guthrie Bluejays edged the McAlester Buffaloes 28-25 Saturday to advance to the Class 5A Championship game.
Quarterback Bryan Dutton put the team on his back for most of the game, rushing for 173 yards and three scores in the narrow in over McAlester.
The loss marked McAlester's first of the season and the second consecutive year the Buffaloes took a semifinal exit.
