SALLISAW, Oklahoma -- A high-speed chase on I-40 in Sequoyah County early Thursday morning ended with an Ohio man wanted on federal drug charges taken to jail.
The chase began at 1 a.m. just across the state line when an Arkansas state trooper tried to stop a westbound car driven by David Kidd of Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Speeds reached more than 100 mph at times during the pursuit.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers bumped Kidd's car, causing it to spin out of control and come to a stop near Vian.
Kidd was arrested and taken to the Sequoyah County jail.
Authorities say Kidd transported prescription drugs back to Ohio after "doctor shopping" in Florida and South Carolina.
