NORMAN, Oklahoma -- In the first game of the Heartland Classic, Team Oklahoma started on the right foot, taking down Maryland 8-4.
Cale Coshow of Deer Creek powered the Oklahoma offense with a three-run double. Putnam City North's Casey Coyle launched a solo home run and Santa Fe's Jordan Lopez added a pair of RBIs.
Oklahoma next plays Canada at Mitchell Park on Wednesday at noon.
