Muskogee Couple Arrested For Leaving Toddler In Hot Car

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -- A Muskogee couple were arrested after police say they left their 3-year-old child in a hot car.

Police were called out to a Muskogee shopping center Saturday and found the toddler inside the car with the motor off. The temperature at the time was 103 degrees.

Police don't know how long the child was in the car but the child was soaked with sweat, police say.

Muskogee Police arrested the mother, Tania Lopez, 27, and the stepfather, Mauro Garcia, 51. They have both been charged with felony child abuse.

The two remain in the Muskogee County Jail.
