PORTLAND, Oregon -- Portland guard Brandon Roy will have surgery on both of his knees next week, the team announced Wednesday. There is no timetable for his recovery.
In two games against the Oklahoma City Thunder this year, Roy is averaging 26.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and three assists in each contest, both losses but could have gone either way.
Roy has had knee injuries severe enough to require surgery in the previous two seasons, one causing him to miss the entire preseason and the other costing him the first three games of the postseason.
The two squads don’t square off again until March 27 in Portland.
