OU Basketball Names Captains

Coach Jeff Capel has named four Sooner players as captains for the 2010-11 season.

NORMAN, Oklahoma – OU basketball coach Jeff Capel named his team captains on Friday for the upcoming 2010-11 season.

Senior guard Cade Davis, junior guard T.J. Franklin, junior forward Nick Thompson and sophomore forward Andrew Fitzgerald will be the Sooners’ captains.

"Cade, Fitz, T.J. Franklin, and Nick were selected as captains because of the qualities they displayed in summer workouts and have shown thus far in our preseason program," Capel said. "We've had several players who have shown qualities of a captain, but these guys were selected by their teammates and have the full support of our coaching staff.”

OU begins its season Nov. 2 in Norman against Northern State.
