NORMAN, Oklahoma – OU sophomore quarterback Landry Jones has been named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Florida State Seminoles in a 47-17 win on Saturday.
Jones led the No. 10 Sooners, completing 30-of-40 passes for 380 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in the victory.
He threw for 321 yards in the first half, the second-highest total in OU history to Sam Bradford’s 350 yards against North Texas in 2007.
Jones and the Sooners will take on the Air Force Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in Norman.
Linebacker Justin Springer of Kansas was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and Texas Tech return man Eric Stephens was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.
