TULSA, Oklahoma -- The University of Tulsa learned Monday that sophomore transfer Jameel Owens was granted a transfer waiver by the NCAA.
The 6-foot-3 wide receiver transferred from Oklahoma to Tulsa after just one semester to move closer to home because of his mother’s health.
He was granted a hardship waiver by the NCAA and will not have to sit out the customary one year.
Owens redshirted in 2009 after playing as a true freshman in the fall of 2008. At Muskogee High School, Owens started all four years, catching 167 passes for 3,444 yards and 45 touchdowns.
