A prominent local attorney says he'll represent the city for free. Attorney Clark Brewster made the offer the city council and Mayor Dewey Bartlett Thursday afternoon.

Several Councilors are urging the Mayor to accept the offer, but Bartlett says he needs some time to decide.

Bartlett's office says no formal offer has been submitted and a contract would have to be written before the city would take Brewster up on his offer.

The City council plans to discuss the offer next Tuesday.
