SAND SPRINGS, OK -- Oklahoma Sheriff's and the Boy Scouts are teaming up to help kids.
They're putting on a Sheriff's Camp at the Zink Ranch near Sand Springs. The idea is to teach at-risk kids to solve problems with words instead of weapons.
"Its really encouraging to see the young people out here in the, I guess you could say, country or the woods," said Sheriff Stanley Glanz Tulsa County. "And seeing a different side of life than they normally see. learning to do pioneer projects and build fires."
This is the first year for the camp. The scouts and the Sheriff's hope to make it an annual event.
