TULSA, OK -- Veterans Day is Wednesday, but on Monday, Tulsa County took time to honor its employees who serve not only our community, but also our country.
More than 50 Tulsa County employees are either veterans or are serving in the military or National Guard.
Those recognized say they're proud to serve.
"Some people cannot go, some people choose not to, but just a simple thank you to those who have and who did, it's very meaningful," said Deputy Chris Westcott, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.
Tulsa's Veterans Day parade is taking place Wednesday to salute those who wear the uniform. It is at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in downtown Tulsa.
