Lone Suspect Robs Tulsa MidFirst Bank Branch

TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police are looking for a lone male suspect following a bank robbery Monday afternoon. Police said the MidFirst Bank branch at 4255 South Peoria was robbed at about 1 p.m. Monday.

Police say the suspect stood in a teller line and then left. He returned, went to a teller and handed over a note indicating it was a robbery. The note had the numbers "100," "50" and "20" written on it. The suspect then showed he had a handgun stuck in his waistband, said Sgt. Dave Walker of the Tulsa Police Department.

The suspect directed the teller not to hand him any money that was marked or any dye packs. The teller handed the suspect an undetermined amount of cash, Sgt. Walker said.

After getting the cash, Tulsa Police said the suspect ran away.

The suspect was seen running northbound. Officers are investigating whether the suspect had a vehicle hidden in the neighborhood north of the bank.

No one was injured in the robbery and there were no customers in the bank at the time.

The suspect is described as a white man is his late 30's. He is 5'10" - 6'00" and weighs 160-170 pounds. The suspect was wearing a faded green ball cap, dark sunglasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt that was unzipped, blue jeans and black shoes.

This is the 22nd robbery of a financial institution in Tulsa this year.
