1 Million Oklahomans' Personal Information at Risk

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Department of Human Services says an employee's laptop computer, which possibly contained personal information on hundreds of thousands of people, has been stolen.

DHS officials say letters are being sent to almost 500,000 households informing them of the potential security breach.

DHS Director Howard Hendrick says the risk of data on the computer being accessed is low because of the computer uses the agency's password-protected system.

The computer was taken from a car on April 3. The information on the computer included names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth for people who use DHS services.
