HOMINY, OK -- The City of Hominy takes over ownership of the town's National Guard Armory on Friday.
The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality transferred ownership of the National Guard Armory to the city in a special ceremony.
Environmental hazards at the facility were cleaned up as part of DEQ's Site Cleanup Assistance Program.
The Hominy Armory is one of several surplus armories being cleaned up. Once the hazards are removed, these surplus armories are being reused by their respective local governments.
