OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- He's best known for his space travel, but now Oklahoma astronaut John Herrington is on solid ground and biking across the country.
On Tuesday, he rode through Oklahoma City on his way south to Ada. His mission is to encourage students in every state to get interested in science and math.
"Kids are paying attention and if you can get kids motivated that math and science is something fun and practical, then they're more apt to want to learn it and that's the whole purpose behind this," said John Herrington.
Herrington will stop at Ada High School on Wednesday to talk with students there.
