School Board Suspends Superintendent

In a split decision, the Broken Arrow Board of Education voted to begin dismissal proceedings against Superintendent Dr. Jim Sisney.

BROKEN ARROW, OK -- In a split decision, the Broken Arrow Board of Education voted to begin dismissal proceedings against Superintendent Dr. Jim Sisney.

They also voted to immediately to suspend Dr. Sisney and appointed Dr. Gary Gerber as the interim superintendent. Dr. Gerber retired last spring as the assistant superintendent in charge of operations.

The Monday night vote was met by public outcry. The school board refused to give any reason why they voted to begin dismissal proceedings. They say it is a peronnel matter.
