TULSA, OK -- Tulsa County employees may have more room to work in the future. County commissioners approved a plan on Monday to add three more stories to the existing administration building.
"This building has served our needs since 1972. But it no longer serves our needs because we just don't have enough space," said Chairman Fred Perry.
Perry says the addition would eventually cut expenses since several county agencies are renting out space in other buildings. He also says cash accounts in each office and a sales tax approved a couple years ago will pay for the improvements.
The budget board still needs to okay the plan.
Construction on the project could start in six to eight months and finish up about in about two years.
