DENVER (AP) Paul Stastny's first career five-point game led the Colorado Avalanche to a 6-2 win over the visiting San Jose Sharks.
Stastny had a goal and four assists for the Avalanche who broke open a close game with four goals in the third period
Milan Hejduk added two goals and an assist for Colorado.
Avalanche captain Joe Sakic had a goal and an assist to move past Phil Esposito into eighth on the NHL career points list with 1,591.
Ryan Clowe scored twice for the Sharks, who have gone 1-1-0-and-1 while opening the season with four straight road games.
