FBI Searches Home Of State Auditor

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A newspaper report says FBI agents seized campaign records of state Auditor and Inspector Jeff McMahan during a search of his home in Tecumseh. The Oklahoman reports in a copyright story that agents also took at least one piece of jewelry that was bought by businessman Steve Phipps.

Phipps has pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge and admitted paying kickbacks to three state lawmakers. He's also been connected to a scheme that federal prosecutors say funneled illegal campaign donations to McMahan, Governor Brad Henry and Congressman Dan Boren.

McMahan, Henry and Boren each say they didn't know about the illegal donations to their campaigns.

McMahan has said he's trying to cooperate with the FBI and has been asked not to discuss his interviews with agents.
