SONOMA, Calif. (AP) -- Jamie McMurray outdrove the road racing specialists and everybody else to win his first pole in nearly two years.

McMurray posted the fastest lap on the 1.99 mile Infineon Raceway road course to earn the pole for Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350.

Robby Gordon, considered one of the best road racers in NASCAR, was second to McMurray, followed by Dale Earnhardt Junior, Boris Said and former Sonoma winner Tony Stewart.
