STATE DEPARTMENT (AP) -- A State Department official is calling it "a signal opportunity" to launch new talks between Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
Dozens of key leaders from the region have been invited to the Middle East conference scheduled to begin Monday in Washington and Annapolis, Maryland.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will host the talks and President Bush is scheduled to deliver an opening speech at the U.S. Naval Academy.
